Fulcrum Technology Solutions are seeking a Network Administrator responsible for supporting both IT (Corporate) and OT (Operational Technology, Industrial Control System, SCADA) network environments for a client in Houston. This includes managing switches, routers, VPN configuration, firewalls, and field communication equipment. The role requires maintaining the entire network stack from carrier to endpoint and direct experience supporting IT and OT environments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, and install network systems, including LAN/WAN, voice, and field communication devices.
- Build and maintain robust network infrastructure.
- Manage multiple telecom providers.
- Ensure the security and efficiency of the IT infrastructure.
- Proactively monitor IT and OT networks, collaborating with vendors for issue resolution.
- Monitor IT and OT firewalls for security-related concerns.
- Support datacenter network operations.
- Test network backup procedures and update documentation.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects.
- Assist field technicians in troubleshooting communication-related issues.
- Manage projects for new locations and network expansions.
- Ensure communications installations align with construction schedules.
- Quickly isolate and resolve outages.
- Manage network technologies, including:
- Fortinet Suite (Fortinet switches, routers, FortiManager, FortiCloud)
- Cisco ISR/ASR, Firepower
- Sierra Wireless, Peplink, CradlePoint, Cisco cellular routers
- SD-WAN, Wireless LAN, DMVPN, AVPN, PRI/SIP
Education and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting IT and OT networking environments.
- Fortinet NSE Certification (minimum Fortinet Certified Associate).
- Experience in Oil & Gas or SCADA/ICS communications preferred.
- Expertise in high availability networks.
- Knowledge of EIGRP, BGP, RIP, and OSPF.
- Ability to install cellular, radio networks, and vSAT field communications.
- Experience with outdoor wireless systems (2.4GHz, 5GHz, 900MHz, private spectrum) preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft application suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a small team environment.
- Service-oriented mindset with strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with change management processes.
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas industry business practices.

Working Conditions:
