Fulcrum is working exclusively with a client hiring for a full time Sr. Security Analyst to join their team in Houston. The position is hybrid with a couple of days on site to collaborate.
As an IT Security Analyst you will play a crucial role in protecting our information systems from cyber threats. Your responsibilities will include monitoring network security, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor security access and conduct assessments to identify potential risks.
- Develop and implement robust security measures and controls.
- Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with security practices.
- Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
- Install security measures and manage software to protect systems and information infrastructure.
- Document security breaches and assess their impact.
- Collaborate with the security team to conduct tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
- Remediate identified vulnerabilities to maintain high security standards.
- Stay updated on IT security trends and emerging threats.
- Develop and promote company-wide best practices for IT security.
- Conduct penetration testing to evaluate system defenses.
- Assist colleagues in installing security software and understanding information security management.
- Research security enhancements and provide recommendations to management.
- Keep abreast of information technology trends and security standards.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with various information security frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to educate non-technical audiences on security measures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new security skills, tactics, and solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
- Experience with administering endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
- Experience with managing email security gateways.
- Experience with configuring and administering network firewalls.
- Familiarity with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
Salary : $90,000 - $135,000
