This position is primarily based at The BEAT Center in Toms River, a food security hub for Ocean County that includes Fulfill’s People’s Pantry, the JBJ Soul Kitchen, a training kitchen for meal production as well as our Culinary Arts Training Program, and a small food distribution warehouse. In the center of it all is the Resource Center, a space to bring in resources and services that improve food security for the neighbors who visit The BEAT Center. The Community Impact Coordinator oversees the coordination and execution of day-to-day client-centered operations of the Resource Center, as well as promoting the BEAT Center’s programs and services to the broader Ocean County community. Key activities include, but are not limited to, organizing outreach efforts, collaborating with community partners on events, and supervising volunteers and/or staff performing receptionist functions as they assist clients visiting the People’s Pantry, JBJ Soul Kitchen, and/or Resource Center. Additionally, this position will assist Fulfill’s Culinary Training and other workforce programs with resource support and professional development instruction for students. Some nights and weekends are required.
In this role, you will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Resource Center space at The BEAT Center, provide oversight and scheduling of community partners invited to provide outreach, information, and services in the Resource Center, provide supervision to volunteers and/or staff performing receptionist functions. And ensure timely and appropriate communication of outreach events in collaboration with the JBJ Soul Foundation, Fulfill’s Development & External Relations team, and other relevant parties. In addition, you will network with community partners and build relationships to enhance outreach efforts and to promote the programs and services available at the BEAT Center, evaluate outreach impact including, but not limited to number of: client visits, clients connected to services, and related outcomes, collaborate with Fulfill’s Resource Connections Team, JBJ Soul Foundation, People’s Pantry, and other Fulfill programs on events and programming and assist with Fulfill’s collective impact approach to end hunger in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. You may be asked to represent Fulfill at community meetings, coalitions, conferences, and assist Fulfill workforce programming with resource support, soft skills education, and professional development.
Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of community outreach or social service experience with at least 1 year of supervisory experience, preferred along with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required for work at other locations.
Compensation: $23.00 – $28.88
