What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Assistant position at Fulfill?
Fulfill’s Culinary Program provides job skills training for students in need of permanent employment through a thirteen-week onsite training program in a commercially equipped kitchen. The production kitchen also provides prepared meals for CACFP at-risk after school programs (Kids Café), summer food service program, member agencies, and Fulfill events. Under the direction of the Production Chef, the Culinary Assistant will prepare meals for the after school and summer meal program, as well as Fulfill events, onsite and offsite catering; prepare, present and store food in accordance with all local health code sanitary regulations while maintaining safe surroundings, handle cash and make change if needed, help to supervise the work of culinary students during the training program, and plan, set up, work and breakdown special events and catering when necessary. It is expected that you will model hospitality and show awareness of professional behavior to customers, staff, and students.
Qualified candidates will have some food service experience. Must be able to read and write in English and at a level that is generally accepted as literate and possess basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. ServSave certification is a plus. You must be able to work at both the Neptune or Toms River location.
The hours for this role are 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Salary is $15.49 – $16.60 per hour. There may be other opportunities (both part and full time) at Fulfill and you would be eligible to apply.
