We have an Oil & Gas client looking to hire a Turnaround Planner with E&I experience to support projects around the US. California, Texas, and Louisiana candidates will be considered. Travel required up to 40% of the year.

Work Schedule:
- Planning Phase: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (5/8s)
- Execution Phase: 12-hour shifts (7/12s) usually for 30–35 days
Work Type: W2 Contract / Renewable Contract based on performance and project need
Initial Contract Duration: Feb 2025 - Dec 2026

SUMMARY:
The Turnaround Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing maintenance and repair plans for plant turnarounds, ensuring minimal downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance planning or turnaround planning.
- 3 years of experience in electrical package planning, including test/work package preparation.
- Extensive experience in industrial outages, LV & HV motors, heaters, power distribution equipment, and preventive maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of electrical and instrumentation construction workflows.
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications, including OSHA, TWIC, and other state-mandated requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and coordinate comprehensive turnaround plans.
- Schedule and monitor maintenance and repair activities.
- Create detailed work packages, including scope, required materials, manpower, and timelines.
- Manage procurement, expediting, and ensuring availability of necessary materials.
- Develop project schedules using Primavera P6 and ensure timely execution.
- Provide daily schedule updates during turnaround execution.
Technical & Compliance:
- Interpret and utilize electrical & instrumentation drawings and P&IDs.
- Plan, review, and issue test/work packages to field personnel.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety and quality standards.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping and conduct frequent site inspections.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes, ensuring proper documentation and execution of plant modifications.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and contractor teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and mitigation of operational safety issues.
- Communicate effectively with craftspeople, contractors, and suppliers.
- Participate in incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
