Our team is growing! We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our medical instruments and equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of sterilization processes, adherence to safety protocols and infection control, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in dental assisting, or related fields is highly desirable.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and dental tools.
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of instruments for various procedures.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure all instruments are ready for use.
- Utilize 3D scanners/printers as needed for specific procedures.
- Follow strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of sterilized equipment and supplies.
- Help with taking radiographs when needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in dental assisting, is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes related to sterilization techniques.
