Full Circle Farm Sanctuary (FCFS) is a 55 acre sanctuary located in Warm Springs, Georgia, that serves as a permanent safe haven for farmed animals. In addition to providing a nurturing lifetime home for over 100 rescued animals at FCFS, we also network with other sanctuaries and animal advocates to help find loving forever homes for those who need our help. We educate and advocate by showing the public what is possible when an animal is shown compassion. We do this by sharing the resident’s stories, the plight of their species, and providing facts about the industries that they have come from. We strive to bring public perceptions of farmed animals full circle to embrace true compassion for all.

Job Description: The Animal Caregiver assists in the care of the 100 animals (pigs, chickens, cows, turkeys, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, geese, ducks, and others) living at the sanctuary, under the supervision of the Animal Care Manager. Animal Caregivers are responsible for the cleaning, feeding, medication, observation, and being key to the proactive care of the animals. The ability to engage in positive productive interactions with all staff, board, volunteers and guests is critical to maintaining a cohesive work environment. Normal work hours change seasonally to accommodate animal and visitor needs. All staff members must remain flexible to work each of our rotating 3 shifts. This ranges from open to close. Seasonally these hours range from 7am-9:30pm. This position is 40 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Daily cleaning of barns and enclosures, and pastures when needed
• Animal feeding/watering and maintaining animal feed schedules
• Daily animal health care and maintaining treatment plans
• Aiding with health checks
• Assisting with rescues, as needed
• Assisting with veterinary visits and transports
• Maintaining neat and organized work and storage spaces
• Ensuring tools and other items are put away at the end of the day
• Completing sanctuary projects as assigned by management
• Engaging in detailed communication (written and verbal) with staff, management and the board of directors

Qualifications

• Passionate about working for and with farmed animals
• Keen interest in the animal rights movement is encouraged
• Reliable and dependable
• Previous experience working with farmed animals
• Good observation skills of animal behavior
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold/wet weather and hot summers
• Able to lift 40 - 50 pounds and perform strenuous/manual labor in all weather conditions
• Work well with a variety of people
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Able to follow detailed instructions and meet time sensitive demands
• Able to learn and process new information quickly
• Team player and self-motivator

• Must be able to work our 3 shift schedules, including on weekends/holidays
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record (subject to verification)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
