Overview:
Full Circle Home Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and resources to individuals and families in need, focusing on enhancing their well-being and improving their quality of life. This role requires a strong commitment to social justice, advocacy, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
Must have 4 years of child welfare experience. Must show proof at times of interview.
Duties
- Investigating reports of child abuse or neglect, assessing children's living situations, providing support and services to families in crisis, arranging foster care placements when necessary, working towards family reunification, and ultimately ensuring the safety and well-being of children at risk by connecting them with necessary resources like counseling, housing assistance, and parenting education
- Conduct assessments to identify clients' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Provide crisis intervention services to individuals and families facing emergencies or challenging situations.
- Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Offer guidance and support in areas such as child welfare, behavioral health, and workforce development.
- Facilitate group sessions or workshops aimed at educating clients on available resources and coping strategies.
- Supervise and mentor interns or junior staff members within the department.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress notes, and case management documentation.
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to services, including Medicare when applicable.
Skills
- Active listening, strong communication (both written and verbal), critical thinking, cultural competence, empathy, advocacy, case management, crisis intervention, and the ability to build rapport with families and children to effectively assess situations, intervene when necessary, and provide support to protect children's well-being Proficient in social work principles and practices, with a focus on crisis management.
- Strong understanding of child welfare policies and childcare best practices.
- Experience in behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to supervise and mentor others while fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Knowledge of workforce development strategies to assist clients in achieving employment goals.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience in managing challenging situations while maintaining professionalism.
