THE POSITION OF REGISTERED NURSE IN SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SETTING CONSISTS OF ASSESSING AND TREATING THE HEALTH CONCERNS OF PATIENTS BEING TREATED FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE. INCLUDING ABUSE OF ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUGS. POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN DAYTON, MIDDLETOWN AND FAIRFIELD, OH..
Job Duties
- Develop individualized nursing care plans; implement and addend those plans
- Communicate with clinical staff concerning client’s behavioral, emotional, and mental state for proper treatment
- patients with self-administration of medications
- Appropriately and accurately document in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
- Educate patients on various health conditions
- Ability to provide support to patients. Ability to organize and facilitate group sessions
- Complete weekly nursing visits of scheduled patients
Job Duties
- Complete a thorough nursing assessment and report findings to the Provider
- Monitor patients in acute withdrawal
- Utilize screening tools such as COWs, CIWAs
- Assist patients with self-administration of comfort mediations
- Collaborating with the patient to formulate the nursing plan
Qualifications
- ADN or BSN degree
- Valid OH or Compact unencumbered RN license
- Ability to quickly assess and provide care
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in EHRs
- Experience in mental health and/or addiction preferred
- RN positions available in Middletown, OH and Fairfield, OH
