Under the Supervision of the Operations Manager & Clinical Director, the School-Based Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and engaging in school-based programs. The School-Based Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for providing services related to the delivery of mental health care to assigned students at the designated school location, CSL, Inc. Mental Health Program, (dual-diagnosed) and will provide supportive services to the school staff to support the overall mental health goals of the students and the school.
Primary Duties:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of individual, group, and crisis intervention to students designated by the school district. These services may be delivered to the school site or via Telehealth.
- Provide consultation and advocacy on behalf of students with schools, community agencies, and other providers.
- Deliver person centered, culturally sensitive, needed assessments and treatment using evidence-based interventions.
- Utilize a strengths-based approach in collaborating with family systems, school staff, and community partners.
- May participate in community collaboration and treatment team meetings in support of students.
- Complete student care/billable hours, Student outreach and engagement, treatment planning, and documentation standards
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications as required for the program.
- Provide consultation, education and training to school personnel as requested.
- Participate in crisis assessment, coordination, and follow up in partnership with community-based service organizations, family systems, and school system.
- Maintain student charts/documentation according to the standards outlined in the record keeping procedures, administrative procedures, and quality assurance procedures of CSL, Inc..
- Attend staff meetings, individual and group supervision, required training, and other meetings as requested/required.
- Provide referral and linkage to community resources.
- Work cooperatively and constructively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must posses at minimum a bachelor's degree.
- Must possess one of the following licensures: LPC, LSW, LISW, LPCC, etc.
- Experience in providing individual counseling, crisis interventions, and group counseling.
- Experience working in direct service with youth, school systems, and families preferred.
- Must possess a strong knowledge of the common diagnoses and treatments for school-aged children .
- Must have experience with using computers.
- Ability to carry out detailed written and/oral instructions, along with the ability to understand human behavior.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor while dealing with emotionally charged issues and individuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from a diverse demographic group.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage students.
- Excellent time management skills and demonstrated punctuality and attendance.
Working Conditions:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,000.00 - $72,800.00 per year
