Position Summary
The Network Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Network administration aims to ensure a reliable, secure network conducive to business operations including maintaining a resilient, high-quality network, planning and improving network capacity to enable seamless network access and operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain and support the company's LAN including switching, wiring, Wi-Fi, internal routing, and DHCP.
- Maintain and support the company's WAN including network firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
- Maintain and support virtualization infrastructure such as Storage Area Network, hypervisors, and physical server hardware.
- Maintain and support server operating systems and applications including Windows Server, Active Directory, and various programs.
- Maintain and support VOIP / Unified Communications services and phone systems.
- Maintain and support company security with anti-virus, endpoint detection & response, patching, vulnerability management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign on (SSO), and identity access management (IAM).
- Assist the company with maintaining PCI compliance and best security practices.
- Maintain business continuity with backup management and testing and assist with disaster recovery planning.
- Provide technical assistance to the company for all levels of technical issues, including hardware, software, and network issues.
- Perform user onboarding, including creating accounts and issuing equipment.
- Perform user offboarding, including account removal and equipment collection.
- Independently plan, track, coordinate, and prioritize projects, and create timelines for project plans.
- Collaborate with other teams for larger projects such as server migrations or cloud management.
- Document applications, servers, and networks and their troubleshooting.
- Streamline, revise, document, and automate IT processes using tools and scripts.
- Be available after-hours on occasion for either scheduled or emergency basis.
- Consistently demonstrate a positive approach and attitude and work effectively with others.
- Ensure adequate housekeeping to provide a clean, safe, efficient, and pleasant work environment.
- Complete other business-related duties as assigned.
