ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in training back of house staff, including teaching different culinary skills and techniques.
- Maintains the cleanliness and organizations of all walk-ins, storage areas, work stations, and kitchens.
- Performs responsibilities in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Internal Control Minimum Procedures, internal policies and procedures, Colorado Limited Gaming Regulations, health standards, and safety standards.
- Actively participate in daily operations which includes working in different restaurant outlets and wherever else is needed.
- Adheres to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures for handling, storing, and rotating food products properly to minimize waste and maintain freshness. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in the pantry area.
- Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
- Always provides excellent internal and external guest service.
- Establishes daily staff priorities and assigns production and prep tasks to staff to execute.
- Ensures all menu items are prepared following recipes and yield guidelines.
- Conducts frequent walk-throughs of each kitchen area and directs respective personnel to correct any deficiencies.
- Assists with menu planning and recipe creation.
- Assists with the planning, preparation and execution of special events.
- Oversees and directs the training of new hires in specific phases of the kitchen operation.
- Assists with personnel-related matters including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, mentoring and promoting.
- Assists with the maintenance of all kitchen equipment.
- Ensures an appropriate inventory of ingredients for multiple ongoing events to maximize efficiency and minimize cost and waste. This includes ordering ingredients and maintaining proper storage and rotation of food and beverage items.
- Ensures all employees wear and maintain all uniforms properly, including nametags.
- Assists with the programming of menus into the Point-of Sale system.
- Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated experience providing training, technical direction, and guidance to co-workers. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment. Demonstrated experience paying attention to detail, working efficiently, and maintaining a clean work environment. Demonstrated experience working under pressure or meeting deadlines. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Culinary Arts Degree or Certification, or the equivalent in education and experience. Four (4) or more years of recent and related hospitality or restaurant experience, including one (1) year of managerial experience.
REASONING ABILITY: Makes recommendations, beyond the scope of essential duties, which may positively or negatively impact the operations of other departments.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and ServSafe Certification or similar.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated knowledge of various laws related to safety, workers compensation, and employment. Comprehensive knowledge of Hotel, Food and Beverage, Culinary functions, and Banquet operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion, including frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, crouching, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move kitchen, restaurant, or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours routinely required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$65,000 based on experience.
