What is expected of YOU:
As a Staff Accountant you are responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, protecting company assets, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and GAAP standards. You'll audit accounts payable, verify receipts of goods/services, process journal entries, and support month-end closing.
You will also review payroll reports for accuracy, reconcile bank and general ledger accounts, and assist with audits and fixed asset management. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced casino environment.
Experience YOU will need:

BA/BS in Accounting or related field. (Preferred).

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control standards for asset management, liabilities, and expenses.

In-depth knowledge of bank and general ledger account reconciliation, including cash, deferred revenues, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.

Familiar with three-way matching principles in accounts payable and vendor payment processes.

Knowledge of Fixed Asset Management, including asset coding, classification, depreciation, and account reconciliations.

Understanding of cash management processes, including monitoring cash receipts and creating Positive Pay files for check reconciliation.

Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Great Plains and Red Rock Procurement. (Preferred)

Strong analytical skills with the ability to process complex financial data and generate journal entries.

Proficient Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel), with the ability to analyze v-lookup, budgets, create reports, pivot tables and perform mathematical calculations.

Ability to prepare and post month-end accruals and journal entries accurately and on time.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict regulatory compliance standards.

Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Team-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external auditors, vendors, and other departments.

Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the casino
