In this role, you will lead the charge in launching and managing FSL’s new Chicago office. Duties/ResponsibilitiesEstablish and Lead the Chicago Office:
- Oversee the setup and day-to-day operations of FSL’s Chicago location.
- Build a high-performing sales and operations team to support market growth.
Develop and Expand a Book of Business:
- Leverage existing relationships and market knowledge to grow your own book of business.
- Identify and target new clients through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation methods.
Train and Mentor a Team:
- Train Account Executives and sales professionals.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, performance coaching, and in-person training to ensure team success.
Drive Revenue Growth:
- Set and achieve aggressive sales benchmarks, quotas, and KPIs for the team.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop sales strategies and annual budgets.
Foster a Collaborative and High-Energy Culture:
- Organize team-building events and sales contests to motivate and engage staff.
- Develop best practices, templates, and training materials for the sales team.
Coordinate with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with FSL’s Denver operations team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Utilize FSL’s cutting-edge TMS to provide clients with real-time updates and 24/7 live tracking.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Strong communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable with cold calling and client prospecting.
- Proficient in leveraging technology and tools for client and team success.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent work experience in logistics or sales management will be considered.
Experience:
- Freight Brokerage Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a book of business within the freight brokerage industry.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2-3 years of management experience in any industry, with demonstrated success in recruiting, training, and leading teams.
- Sales Leadership: Proven ability to independently drive sales growth and develop successful client relationships.
- Startup or Growth Environment: Experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Strong understanding of logistics operations and market trends.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to build a cohesive and high-performing team.
- Ability to develop training materials and mentor sales staff.

Compensation and Benefits
- Guaranteed base salary: $80K–$110K, based on experience.
- 25% commission on your book of business.
- 2% commission on monthly net revenues from your market.
