Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise diner staff (servers, cooks, dishwashers, and other support staff).
- Develop work schedules and manage employee performance through regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and motivating employees.
- Handle employee issues and conflicts, ensuring compliance with diner policies and procedures.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining an excellent dining experience.
- Address customer complaints, concerns, and suggestions quickly and professionally.
- Promote an atmosphere of hospitality, ensuring diners feel welcome, valued, and well-served.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Manage restaurant inventory, including food and beverage supplies, and ensure timely orders.
- Monitor kitchen and dining room activities to maintain service efficiency, cleanliness, and organization.
- Supervise cash handling, including the accurate processing of transactions.
- Financial Management:
- Manage the diner’s budget, controlling labor costs, food costs, and other operational expenses.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as daily sales reports, to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure profitability by identifying cost-saving opportunities and increasing sales.
- Food Safety and Quality Control:
- Maintain high standards of food quality, ensuring that dishes are prepared according to recipes and health/safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new customers and retain regular patrons (e.g., promotions, events, loyalty programs).
- Oversee the diner’s social media presence, working to build brand awareness and online engagement.
- Work with local businesses and communities to generate buzz and increase foot traffic.
- Vendor and Supplier Relations:
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Negotiate prices and contracts to keep food and supply costs within budget.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Oversee daily financial operations, including payroll, ordering supplies, and invoicing.
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws, including managing employee schedules and breaks.
