Position Summary
A Portfolio Manager’s is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a freight brokerage, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and driving revenue and profitability. They act as a liaison between shippers and carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods. Key responsibilities include managing client accounts, building carrier relationships, and implementing operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The role also includes resolving customer issues, planning, and scheduling operations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Job Description:
Duties and responsibilities include assisting the Senior Portfolio Manager with daily tasks, including account management, administrative duties, data entry, quoting, building, and tracking shipments, scheduling appointments, customer communication, document and claims processing, and TM software management. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction
- Oversee day-to-day management of all customer accounts, maintaining customer communication, providing status updates on loads with customers
- Tracking and checking on shipment progress, updating spreadsheets to organize and reflect all load information
- Responding to customer requests in an accurate and timely manner
- Address all customer concerns or issues, provide timely solutions, and maintain a high level of customer service
- Building shipments and editing shipment information using TMS software to ensure accurate information and zero errors
- Conduct accurate quoting and bidding for all loads/lines for current and prospective customers, including review of historical information and applying industry costing trends
- Assist with negotiating terms and pricing between customers and carriers
- Maintain accurate communication across logistics coordinator, carrier relations and customer relations teams
- Work with managers and the team to determine daily plans and delegate the priority of daily tasks
- Ensure all activities comply with customer and regulatory requirements

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
