GENERAL SUMMARY:
The EMG tech I is an entry level position in the Neurophysiology dept. The EMG tech I will perform the NCS nerve conduction study, including test set-up, electrode application, maintaining patient safety and other related duties. During NCS procedures for which competencies have not been achieved, the EMG tech I will train under direct technical supervision. Once training is complete and all required competencies have been achieved, the EMG tech I will perform under indirect supervision.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical background, i.e., MA, NA preferred.
- Six months or more experience working in a patient care environment required.
- Will be expected to take Registry Board exams within 2 years.
- Pays attention to detail, computer skills highly desirable.
- Must have strong communication skills.
Salary : $6 - $90
