Under the direction of the Early Childhood Director, the Childcare Center Kitchen Staff And Floater will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children in the program. As needed, this role involves limited assistance in classroom / center activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Establishes weekly and monthly meal plans in accordance with the CACFP nutrition guidelines.
- Prepares and serves meals and snacks per menus created utilizing appropriate products.
- Manage inventory, ordering and tracking supplies to meet meal needs.?
- Keeps records of adherence to the CACFP nutrition program; participates in training.?
- Coordinates with Silver Bay’s executive chef on meal planning and ordering of supplies.
- Maintains adherence to Serv-Safe or other health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen as well as ensure daily cleaning is completed.
- Provides classroom support during children’s play and / or rest periods as well as to help cover breaks and?address coverage gaps as needed.
- Assists in other classroom and center activities, as needed.
- Adheres to all NYS OCFS, Department of Health, NAEYC, CDC, and Silver Bay YMCA standards, regulations, and expectations.?
- Facilitates food service training, as required by CACFP.
- Participates in required training and workshops, as needed to meet NYS OCFS regulations of 30 hours every 2 years.
- Performs other duties, as requested.
