Primary Responsibility:
Support and assist the Manufacturing Manager. Exercise leadership and responsibility for production areas assigned to them. Use leadership skills in supporting the safety and quality systems, and goal setting within the departments. Assist in training and development of crew leads and department personnel.
Essential Functions:
Requires frequent standing and walking on concrete surfaces. Requires frequent computer entry and compatibility with normal computer screens. Regular attendance and starting on time are essential.
Expectations:
Expected to perform at acceptable safety, quality and performance levels and strive for continuous improvement as described in Full Visions Quality Policy.
Specific Responsibility Expectation
Supervision
Directly and indirectly supervise the work force to maximize performance, safety and effort by the crew leads and all shop employees.
Leadership and Responsibility
Exercise leadership and responsibility for assigned production areas, including assigning labor personnel to necessary areas to achieve departmental goals. Minimize the risk of job-related accidents by continuously monitoring operations to eliminate hazardous activities.
Support Management
Be aware of and inform Management of production and personnel issues. Be proactive regarding any potential personnel or safety related issues.
Safety
Responsible for monitoring safety and health regulations and provide technical support to company personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations
Improve and enforce company safety and health programs and objectives and coordinate safety training program
Quality
Support the ISO Quality System.
Ensure adherence to the Quality System with great importance placed on quality parts checks by yourself and/or other assigned personnel.
Environmental/Regulatory
Support Compliance Manager with Environmental and Regulatory requirements. (Permitting and operations).
Production
Assist in monitoring production standard times and recommend process changes. Strive to always improve FVI productivity % and offer ideas for improvement.
Assist in meeting production deadlines and promised finish dates.
Assist Manufacturing Manager with data for and participate in production meetings.
Conduct New Employee Safety Training. Continually improve JSAs. Participate in new production introduction with focus on process hazard, capabilities and efficiency analyses.
Continuous Improvement
Encourage operators to continuously improve.
Encourage operators to use the PIE suggestion program.
Position Requirements:
- 2 years experience in production supervision or related field
- Good communication skills (ability to interact with subordinates, managers, other departments)
- Good organizational skills
- Takes initiative
- High skill level in production management
- Personal integrity and dependability
- Strong knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and practices
- Experience in reporting and developing policies
- Problem solving/analysis skills
- First Aid and CPR trained 1st responder to injuries
