What are the responsibilities and job description for the EXPERIMENTAL MECH position at Full Vision Inc?
JOB DESCRIPTION: Builds prototype and preproduction parts and tooling for same. Conducts ROPS, FOPS, and other tests as instructed. Performs other work as directed by the Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Requires occasional lifting and carrying over moderate distances of parts weighing up to 65 pounds. Requires twisting and turning to perform welding and assembly work. May be required to stand for 8 hours at a time. You will be expected to obtain the tools listed as "Minimum Required Tools" for you classification. Regular attendance and starting on time are essential.
EXPECTATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the proper construction of Engineering Prototypes Parts or Preproduction Parts from engineering drawings or from sketches. Able to build production tooling for designs or from own design. Has a good knowledge of most manufacturing processes. Expected to perform at acceptable quality levels and strive for continuous improvements as described in Full Vision's Continuous Improvement Mission Statement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: A GED or High School Diploma is required.
Math worksheet: Minumum score of 15 or Wonderlic test: Minimum score of 18.
Exception can be made on the above with approval of a review board*.
- Experience: 6 Month Experience working in a factory.
AND/OR
- Training: Completion of Vo-Tech Machine or Weld Program
4. Completion of Physical Agility Test
Passage of Drug Test
- Review Board consists of 3 of the following:
HR Manager, Mfg Manager/Production Supervisor, General Manager.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Same as Minimum requirements
- Experience: 1 Years Experience in Fabrication
- Training: Same as Minimum requirements
- Testing: Blueprint Test Score - 8
NOTE: These tests are also used as an indicator in identifying training needs.
