What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIAL HANDLER position at Full Vision Inc?
General Summary: Support and assist the Production Supervisor, Crew Lead, and Production Employees.
Specific Responsibility Expectation
Unloading Steel Trucks
Unload tubing and flat steel trucks, giving all incoming steel the proper inspection, receiving in writing on the purchase orders the correct amounts, in a timely manner.
Marking and Storing of Steel
Responsible for marking and the storage of all incoming steel products steel products, to include tags and paint identification.
Supplying Operators with Material.
Responsible for moving steel to south fab machines as directed by the lead.
Cleanliness
Responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of steel storage. May be involved in general shop cleanup as directed by the lead.
Scrap Bins
Responsible to empty scrap bins as needed and as directed by the lead.
Direct Labor
Perform direct labor activities as directed by the lead and supervisor.
Expectations:
You will be expected to obtain the tools listed as Minimum Required Tools for your classification. Regular attendance and starting on time are essential. Responsible for the quality of own work and not to accept poor quality workmanship from others. Expected to perform at acceptable safety, quality and performance levels and strive for continuous improvement as described in Full Visions Quality Policy.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional Lifting/carrying/moving up to 80 pounds
- Frequent Lifting/carrying/moving parts up to 50 pounds
- Requires occasional sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and overhead reaching
- Exposure to noise continuously
- Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds
- Standing, Twisting, Walking frequently
- Hand/Eye coordination frequently
- Continuous standing and walking on concrete surfaces
Position Requirements
- Be friendly and cooperative when dealing with drivers and operators.
- High personal integrity and dependability
- Good communications skills (ability to interact with other departments)
- Initiative (ability to find alternate sources or better ways to do things)
- Valid Class C license
- Experience operating overhead cranes/hoists (preferred)
