Summary:
With the direction of the department manager/supervisor, this individual will work independently to support the day-to-day clerical activities as well as physically handle, move, and prepare products in the shipping and receiving areas.
Essential Duties:
- Cross train with the Logistics Manager to support and execute responsibilities in their absence;
- Safely move materials and products daily utilizing powered and non-powered material moving equipment in the work area and in other production areas;
- Assist creating and physically arranging products on multi-sku pallets;
- Forklift license is required, training available;
- Analyze, problem solve, and make informed decisions;
- Excellent electronic, phone, in person, and written communication skills;
- Read and write numbers;
- Provide assistance to supervisor;
- Communicate with co-workers, other departments, management, and external companies;
- Gather and enter data accurately for logistics reporting;
- Create, review, and audit domestic and international documents on the computer. Examples: PO’s Detailed Packing Lists, Shipper’s Export Declarations, BOL’s, Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Compliance, Free Trade Agreement Declarations, etc.;
- Determine the best shipping solution based on cost, timing, and reliability of delivery;
- Make transportation arrangements and schedules based on the customer's requirements;
- Confirm ship dates, shipping methods, and payment requirements;
- Review and confirm accuracy of freight/duty invoices and follow up on discrepancies;
- Track and pursue short shipment and shipping claims;
- Analyze data and inventory, adjust reports and orders, and communicate findings when necessary;
- Process RMA - Return Material Authorization orders and/or shipments as needed;
- Participate or conduct cycle counting programs;
- Complete Daily Forklift Inspection Log and report equipment issues
- Being present at work and adhering to assigned work schedule and safety rules;
- Completion of assigned training programs is a condition of employment;
- Overtime is a condition of employment;

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Preferred logistics or supply chain experience or equivalent education.
- Good computer, Excel, and typing skills with the ability to learn and master custom software.
- Must be able to read and write (English), work with simple arithmetic and understand ordinary verbal and written instructions. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, some high school education required.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read, write and speak English, bilingual a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Forklift experience preferred. On-the-job training is provided.
Work Environment:
Work is performed under generally good conditions with some machine noise, fumes, oil, and dirt present. Adequate lighting, ventilation is present. Extreme outdoor temperatures will influence the temperature in the production area.
Exposure to usual minor shop injuries such as cuts bruises, burns and sprains are inherent in the job. Some exposure to more serious hazards; however, probability of serious injury will be minimized by adherence to established safety regulations.
Training will be provided to personnel who may occasionally wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
