DEPT: Office of Finance and Accounting
HOURS: 40 per week
FT/PT/TEMP : Full Time
STATUS: Non-Exempt
LOCATION: In Person, Pasadena, CA campus
REPORTS TO: Controller
- Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries for a variety of areas including fixed assets, pre-paid expenses, corporate credit cards, resource transfers, e-commerce transactions, and others as assigned
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis as required
- Maintain fixed asset, pre-paid expense, and capital lease schedules
- Review employee reimbursement requests and monthly corporate credit card reclassifications for compliance with Fuller’s travel and expense policy
- Process check and cash deposits, positive pay decisions, and perform other banking tasks
- Process mail for office of finance and accounting and student housing departments
- Process escheatment payments
- Process sales tax calculation and remittance
- Process property tax payments
- Assist with resolving general ledger inquiries and perform other research and analyses as needed
- Cross-train and provide back-up for other finance and accounting tasks as needed
- Perform ad hoc projects as assigned by Controller or Assistant Controller
- B.S. in Accounting or related field
- 3-4 years accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close process
- Good understanding of basic accounting theory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Experience or understanding of non-profit fund accounting a plus
- Experience with Banner Finance system a plus
- Must be willing to abide by Fuller Community Standards
- Position is required to work on Fuller’s Pasadena, CA campus at least 3 days per week
