Masters of Divinity (MDiv)
Masters in Theological Studies (MTS)
Masters in Theology and Ministry (MATM)
Masters in Global Missional Leadership (MAGML)
Masters in Justice and Advocacy (MJA)
Masters in Chaplaincy (MAC)
Masters of Arts in Ministry Leadership for Young Life (MAML)
Affiliate faculty applying for this position would teach students from these Master’s programs in courses which are primarily online with occasional courses offered in Pasadena, CA and Houston, TX.
The availability of positions is variable and dependent upon the number of students and courses required. Screening of submitted applications begins when a teaching vacancy arises.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching online asynchronous, online synchronous, and hybrid courses as assigned.
Preparing of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the seminary.
Building and maintaining the online course shells in Canvas for student accessibility.
Providing a learning environment that supports student success.
Maintaining virtual office hours for each class and mentoring and guiding students beyond the classroom.
Ensuring timely management and responding to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other school officials.
Leading forum discussions and engaging students in relevant discussion and coursework.
Partnering with Program Chairs and Academic Advisors to address student concerns.
Maintaining and submitting accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.
Delivering final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.
Enforcing student conduct policies as outlined in the student handbook.
Remaining current with trends, techniques, and advances in distance learning and theological education.
Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
Additional duties as may be assigned by the school.
Experience and Skills Required
Terminal degree of theological nature from an accredited college or university (PhD of theological, missiological, or intercultural nature; DMin; DMiss; DGL; DIS; or DEd Min) or equivalent professional experience.
Able to work cooperatively within the seminary community.
Sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, gender and denominational differences.
Experience with online and/or hybrid mode teaching.
Affiliate faculty will not exceed 40 hours of work in one week or 8 hours of work in one day.
Must provide a personal laptop for work.
Experience and Skills Preferred
Knowledge of and experience with seminary education
Online teaching experience
Experience with teaching adult learners

Pay Scale:
Wage range: the Seminary expects to pay $22.00 to $51.00 per hour USD for its hourly employees.
Exempt and international employees are paid on a stipend basis.
