Project Director - National Storytelling Initiative

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Implementation and Strategy:

   • Implement a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to achieve project objectives.

   • Collaborate with the Faculty Co-Directors and stakeholders to achieve project goals, clarify scope of work, and ensure deliverables.

   • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

2. Team Coordination and Leadership:

   • Manage a multidisciplinary team, including thought leaders, writers, designers, editors, marketers, and consultants.

   • Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure alignment on goals, progress, and challenges.

   • Provide guidance, support, and motivation to team members throughout the project lifecycle.

3. Content Development and Oversight:

   • Facilitate the creative process from ideation to execution 

   • In collaboration with the Faculty Co-Directors review and provide feedback on scripts, storyboards, and other creative assets.

   • Ensure all content adheres to brand strategy, guidelines, and quality standards.

   • Collaborate with Faculty Co-Directors who oversee the creative process and ensure the storytelling aligns with the project's vision and target audience to maximize theological coherence, intellectual integrity, relational breadth, and contextual diversity.

4. Stakeholder Communication:

   • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, partners, and collaborators.

   • Prepare and deliver regular progress updates, presentations, and reports.

   • Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns in a timely manner.

5. Budget and Resource Management:

   • Monitor project budgets and expenses to ensure cost efficiency.

   • Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.

   • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and other external partners as needed.

   • Responsible for hiring grant personnel in consultation with the Faculty Co-Directors.

6. Project Execution and Delivery:

   • Ensure all milestones are met according to the project timeline.

   • Manage the final review, approval, and delivery of storytelling assets in collaboration with the Faculty Co-Directors.

   • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, communications, media, or a related field.

• 3 years of experience managing creative projects, preferably in storytelling, media, marketing, or content production.

• Strong understanding of storytelling techniques and creative processes.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Proficient in project management tools and software.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional or graduate degree in theological studies.

• Experience in digital storytelling, film production, or multimedia projects.

• Familiarity with content marketing and audience engagement strategies.

• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) is a plus.

Additional Remarks:

• This is a hybrid role and may involve a combination of remote and in-person work out of the Pasadena, CA campus, depending on the project requirements.

• Occasional travel may be required for meetings or on-site activities.

• This is a grant-funded position which may be time-limited and/or contingent upon sufficient funding.

Pay Scale:
The salary range the seminary expects to pay: $89,000 - $97,000 annually USD
