LOCKSMITH
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under supervision, perform skilled lock maintenance work in installation, adjustment, and repair; change keyed and combination locks; and perform related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair or adjust keyed and combination locks;

Install, repair, adjust, and overhaul door closers;
-
Rebuild various types of locks; change lock combinations;
-
Keep master keys for District, schools, and related facilities;
-
Prepare and maintain master keys system;
-
Requisition and maintain locks, lock parts, and keys;
-
Responsibility to cut new or duplicate keys by code; and
-
Repair panic bar and other exit hardware.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
-
Materials, tools equipment, and methods used in the maintenance and repair of locks;

Safety requirements; and
-
Key making and master-keying practices,
ABILITY TO:
-
Repair locks and make keys;
-
Use and care for locksmith tools and equipment;
-
Keep records;
-
Perform shop mathematics;
-
Lift; and
-
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, or equivalent; and
-
Two years of experience in locksmith work.
LICENSE REQUIRED:
-
Possession of a valid State of California Class C Driver’s License.
Salary : $5,381 - $6,870
