We have immediate seeking a highly motivated and skilled Precision Agriculture Field Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for precision agriculture systems, ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced agricultural technologies such as GPS, auto-steering systems, yield monitors, etc. You will work closely with farmers and operators to ensure these systems are running efficiently to maximize productivity and crop yields.Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation and Setup:
Assist in the installation and setup of precision agriculture equipment, including GPS units, yield monitors, auto-steering systems, and other hardware.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, and data management platforms, resolving problems quickly to minimize downtime.
- User Training and Support:
Provide training and ongoing support for customers, guiding them on the use and operation of precision agriculture technology. Offer assistance with system configuration, troubleshooting, and operational best practices.
- Data Management:
Assist farmers with data collection, analysis, and interpretation to help optimize field operations. Ensure proper data synchronization between field devices and management software.
- Software Integration:
Work with farmers to integrate software platforms with their farming operations, ensuring accurate data flow between various devices and systems.
- Technical Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of system installations, maintenance, and service reports. Document technical support activities and solutions for future reference.
- Continuous Learning:
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in precision agriculture technology and participate in training to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Associate’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Precision Agriculture, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
At least 2 years of experience working with precision agriculture technologies, equipment, or software. Experience in troubleshooting and repairing agricultural machinery or electronics is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of GPS, auto-steering systems, yield monitors, soil sensors, and other agricultural technology platforms. Familiarity with data management software (e.g., John Deere Operations Center, Trimble, Ag Leader, etc.) is a plus.
- Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues independently.
- Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical customers.
- Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), work in outdoor environments, and travel to customer sites when needed.
- License/Certification:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Certification in precision agriculture technologies (e.g., Trimble, Ag Leader) is a plus but not required.
Required:
- Experience with safe operation of all farm equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of basic computer systems, Microsoft office apps and web based software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of agricultural systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
