This opportunity is on site for a school located in Abbeville, South Carolina
Monday to Friday; 7:45 AM to 3:00 PM
Salary: 51,000 to 60,000; negotiable based on experience and degrees
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech/language services based on student IEPs
- Collaborate with staff to improve communication programs
- Assess and diagnose speech/language disabilities
- Develop and implement therapeutic programs based on IEP goals
- Assist teachers in identifying and addressing speech/language concerns
- Hold meetings with parents/guardians and staff to discuss student progress
- Maintain accurate student records, including IEPs and service logs
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Provide screenings to identify potential speech/language disabilities
- Participate in professional development and school meetings.
Additional Duties:
- Supervise special education staff and assist with classroom management
- Assist with other school duties as assigned (e.g., lunch duty, bus duty).
Skills:
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and students
- Knowledge of speech therapy best practices and current research.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write, hear, and speak effectively
- Ability to occasionally lift to 25 pounds
- Master's Degree (required)
- SC Teaching Certificate (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) by ASHA (required)
- Experience in a school setting (required)
- At least one year of full-time experience as a SLP in a school setting
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
