Position Summary: The Production Manager oversees the activities and performance of Supervisors to ensure the efficient, safe, and budget-conscious production of high-quality products. This role focuses on meeting production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and driving team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage departmental operations to ensure efficient production, proper staffing, and timely project completion within budget.
- Supervise and support Supervisors by overseeing team management, including recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Assign duties, provide clear verbal and written instructions, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Offer technical guidance to team members and consult with additional resources as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing to communicate schedules, progress, and backlogs.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineering teams to coordinate activities and ensure project alignment.
- Assess and determine outsourcing needs to maintain project timelines.
- Review and manage labor charges, purchase requisitions, and departmental schedules.
- Lead department and CIT meetings to drive communication and alignment.
- Ensure compliance with Daifuku’s Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement processes to achieve exceptional industry performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience within the material handling industry.
- Proven leadership skills in managing, coaching, scheduling, and developing team members.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Strong multitasking skills while maintaining focus on deadlines and accuracy.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and dedicated to fostering a positive work environment.
