Job Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team! This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the cinema, which includes managing day-to-day activities, supervising staff, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality or food service management, with a passion for creating memorable experiences for our guests.
Summary of Role
The Assistant Manager shares the responsibilities for all day-to-day operation of the cinema, ensuring the foundations of our customer service experience are delivered to 100% of our guests. This includes assisting with the training and supervision of a staff of up to 10 part-time employees. The responsibilities of the position will require between 28 to 40 hours each week with the flexibility of an hourly schedule. Additional work supporting our nearby Milford, Iowa location is also a possibility.
Duties
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise during their visit.
- Oversee shift management and scheduling, ensuring staff are adequately trained and supported during their shifts.
- Deliver superior customer-service experience for all guests.
- Ensure that staff execute daily responsibilities with consistency, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Coordinate special events and activities (parties, facility rentals, etc.)
- Track inventory levels and handle ordering.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests and resolve conflicts effectively
- A minimum of 2 years in a management role supervising more than 5 employees
- A minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing position, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, particularly on weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Reliable transportation to the work location, including during inclement weather
- Reside in the immediate area (or ability to relocate to within a 20-minute drive)
Desired Qualifications
- An associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 5 or more years of relevant management experience in food service, entertainment, hospitality or similar industry
- Flexible/open availability during the weekends
