Job Summary:
Join our dedicated team in the Pharmacy Department as a Pharmacy Technician. This full-time position involves preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care by performing technical tasks with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare intravenous admixtures, sterile products (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition).
- Fill physician orders, prescriptions, medication cabinets, and stock requisitions.
- Deliver medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas.
- Provide technical support for automated pharmacy equipment.
- Identify and replace outdated or unusable drugs.
- Package medications as required for dispensing.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Certification: Certified by a Board-approved competency exam or actively working toward certification per Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Training: Must meet department standards for IV admixture through training provided by pharmacists and certified IV technicians, including passing a written exam.
Skills:
- Knowledge of drug names, medical terminology, and basic math.
- Ability to compound medications and prepare intravenous products, including antineoplastic drugs, under supervision.
- Basic computer proficiency.
