Summary

Performs a variety of skilled tasks to diagnose and repair AV equipment, TV’s, DVR’s, CATV systems, overhead projectors, sound control boards, lighting control boards and other classroom and office equipment

Essential Duties

• Utilizes blueprints, schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to complete repair tasks and trouble shooting
• Utilizes hand tools, testing and diagnostic equipment, simple power tools and equipment as appropriate for the trade to complete assigned tasks
• Cleans worksites including hauling debris and trash, cleaning tools and equipment and ensuring tools, materials and equipment are stored properly
• Demonstrates knowledge of tools and safety practices commonly used in various trades
• Determines proper methods, equipment, and materials to facilitate cost effective repairs
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
  
  

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Certification/Licensure

Valid Georgia Driver License required

Eligible to acquire a CDL

Must be insurable by Fulton County School insurance carriers

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Working knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment of the AV/Electronics' repair trade
• Knowledge of hazards and safety practices of the lighting and electrical trade
• Skilled in use of hand and power tools and large equipment attachments related to the trade
• Skilled in the safe operation of lifts, ladders and scaffolds
• Must be able to understand and follow directions both written and verbal
• Must be able to work variable shifts
  
  

Working Conditions

• Regular exposure to weather including heat, cold, dampness, and/or humidity
• Must be able to work from tall ladders, lifts, scaffolding and/or bucket truck
  
  

Physical Demands

• Typically requires climbing ladders; pushing and/or pulling
• Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to operate power equipment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances
• Must be able to stand, crouch, and climb to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
