Summary
The Specialist I for CTAE is responsible for performing various budgetary duties that may be complex in nature and requires substantial interaction with school-based and District personnel. The incumbent in this position will assist with budget monitoring, transactions, and reporting.
Essential Duties
- Maintains accurate budget records and prepares internal budget-related reports for the Director of CTAE
- Assists the Director of CTAE with all federal and state CTAE grants in the GaDOE Consolidated Application
- Assists CTAE office staff with receiving quotes for CTAE purchases
- Processes all purchase requisitions for the CTAE office and all subsequent activities after requisition entry, including but not limited to monitoring the progress of requisition approvals, shipment/delivery updates, and goods receipts
- Processes all required budget transactions, including reclasses, amendments, PRIME entry, transfers, etc
- Assists all school-level bookkeepers with questions related to CTAE orders
- Assists CTAE teachers with travel-related questions
- Assists in providing budget-related training to CTAE staff
- Communicates with schools and employees, as needed, to relay information related to CTAE budgets and travel
- Works with other departments as needed to ensure a smooth flow of processes
- Assists the members of the CTAE District office staff with clerical support as needed
- Assists the Director of JROTC with Cost Center budget
- Manages workflow as prescribed to maximize efficiency and productivity
- Provides excellent customer service that fosters trust by providing appropriate solutions in a timely manner
- Researches and analyzes data for accuracy, reporting any discrepancies to management
- Remains in compliance with all legal requirements and District policies and procedures at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Certification/Licensure
Experience Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a related field dealing with budget management required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information and exercise extreme discretion
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a cohesive team
- Must be able to collaborate effectively with District and school personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
- High degree of professionalism
- Excellent keyboarding, writing, and aptitude for numbers and commitment to accuracy
- Working knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Office productivity applications
