Purpose Statement
The job of Middle School Administrative Intern is done for the purpose(s) of providing support for the management of daily school operations; providing student supervision in a variety of settings; serving as an administrative supervisor for extracurricular events; facilitating the student discipline process; coordinating school activities and addressing issues, situations, and problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students. This job reports to the principal.
Terms of Employment
189 Days (August 7, 2024 through June 5, 2025)
Salary is based on the certified salary schedule (plus 10 days at the daily rate).

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Skills are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : planning and managing projects; using pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and administering personnel policies.
Knowledge is required to review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and / or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : policies, regulations and / or laws; conflict resolution; bookkeeping principles; and concepts of management and supervision.
Ability is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and / or events; gather, collate, and / or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and / or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize job-related equipment. Responsibility
Responsibilities include : working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives; and directing other persons within a small work unit; supervising the use of funds. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization's services.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands : some lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling, some climbing and balancing, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 30% sitting, 30% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations.
Attendance
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Experience
5 years of teaching experience is preferred.
Education
Masters degree in a job-related area.
