About the Role : My client is seeking an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to oversee PCB assembly and wire harness manufacturing and procurement for their high powered, small form factor electric motor products. This role involves implementing new processes and improvements to meet the increasing demand for motor products. The position requires a high degree of self-motivation and responsibility, providing significant autonomy and direct responsibility for the production of numerous components.
Key Responsibilities
Manage new product introduction (NPI) for PCB and harness assemblies.
Troubleshoot and resolve electronics manufacturing issues.
Document and address non-conformance issues, implementing corrective actions.
Oversee incoming inspections and ensure quality control.
Facilitate smooth transition from development to volume production.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for yield, performance, and cost.
Develop manufacturing instructions and tests for PCB and wire harnesses.
Evaluate and ensure quality and reliability of contract manufacturers.
Manage electronics inventory and coordinate production schedules.
Collaborate across departments to streamline processes and meet project timelines.
Support design engineering with design for manufacturability (DFM) and prototype procurement
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2 years of experience as an Electronics Manufacturing or Design Engineer.
Proficiency in hand soldering TH and SMD components.
Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
Fundamental 3D CAD and 3D printing experience.
Experience with quality standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-6012, etc.).
Ability to develop test methods, inspection plans, and quality control procedures.
Expertise in PCBA test fixture design.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organized with strong attention to detail.
Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
Results-driven with a willingness to learn quickly.
High emotional intelligence for effective collaboration.
Fundamental curiosity and motivation by first principles.
Ability to access CUI / ITAR / EAR controlled information
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in manufacturing launch of electronics components.
Programming experience in C, C , Python, or other scripting languages.
Experience with AOI, X-ray, and flying probe tests PCB design experience.
Experience with PCBA layout and schematics.
Knowledge of electronic component BOM management and vendor list development.
Familiarity with communication protocols (i2c, SPI, CAN, Ethernet).
Skills in design for manufacture and design for test implementation.
Experience with ISO9001 and / or AS9100 standards.
Experience with PCB fabrication and assembly quoting and negotiation.
Experience working in a startup environment.
Process FMEA expertise.
Understanding of power electronic functions and high voltage systems.
Knowledge of ESD controls.
