Pay Rate : $18.00-$24.00
Seeking Part-Time and Full-Time Dog Trainer in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to work with dogs in our dog training business at Fun Fur Pets, LLC including dog basic manners and behavioral issues to make them a more compatible family member. Animal Training experience of one year or more with dogs, horses, etc is preferred for this position.
The full-time position includes 5 work days every other Saturday (Tuesday-Friday) with the Hours of : 7 : 00 am to 11 : 00 am; 12 : 00pm-6 : 00 pm. Every other Saturday the hours would be 8 : 00 am to 12 : 00 pm or 12 : 00 to 6 : 00 pm for dog training classes. A total of 18 work days per month.
The part-time position includes 4 work days and every other Saturday. The hours are Noon to 6 : 00 and Saturdays 8 : 00 am to 12 : 00 pm or 12 : 00 pm to 6 : 00 pm for dog training classes.
Need to be comfortable with small and large dogs, puppies and older. Our teaching program is for basic obedience, minor behavior modification and aggression cases. The candidate must be comfortable filming yourself speaking and working with a dog. You'll be provided with a company phone to shoot videos and post them to a private Facebook group for clients. The videos are of the dog, demonstrating the tasks that you are working on with the dog. Our clients are expected to watch the videos on the private Facebook group and mimic the training that you are providing. (Examples can be found on our Facebook page.)
A virtual assistant communicates with all prospective clients and monitors Facebook and email. There will be no sales calls.
Trainer Responsibilities :
- Work with dogs on their basic manners and behavioral issues to make them a more compatible family member. We follow the LIMA theory in our training program, rewards always come first.
- You will be responsible for cleaning up pee, poop, vomit, and other miscellaneous things caused by animals.
- Lead pack walks inside our facility and outdoor play areas.
- Train dogs outside the facility to provide urban training and walks
- Assist dogs in overcoming fear of humans, other dogs and their environment
- Assist dogs with reactivity, resource guarding and behavioral issues.
- Be proactive in making sure dogs are always in a clean and safe environment.
- Have basic customer service skills and be able to follow our safety protocols.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team atmosphere.
- Responsible, reliable, with a positive, can-do attitude that is excited to learn.
- Desire to provide the absolute best experience to our animal pets and their owners.

Experience :
Candidates who are successful in this position may have previous experience as a dog trainer, pet care technician, kennel technician, or animal care attendant.
