Job Summary:
Our mission at Fun Time Early Childhood Academy is to provide affordable, high quality early learning for underserved children from working families, preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond. We are seeking a nurturing and adaptable Toddler/Classroom Floater Teacher to join our early childhood education staff. This role is essential in providing support across multiple classrooms, assisting teachers, and ensuring a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment for children. The ideal candidate is flexible, enjoys working with various age groups, and is passionate about early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in multiple classrooms as needed, providing support to teachers and ensuring continuity of care.
- Supervise and engage with children in play-based learning activities.
- Help with daily routines, including feeding, diapering, potty training, and nap time.
- Foster social-emotional development by modeling positive interactions and behavior.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Follow and uphold all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Communicate effectively with teachers and staff to support classroom needs.
- Develop positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma required; DCF 45 hours (to be obtained in first 90 days), CDA (Child Development Associate) or higher education in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children in a childcare or classroom setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and age groups.
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
- Team-oriented and dependable.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in activities with children (sitting, kneeling, bending).
- Comfortable working in both structured and unstructured learning settings.
- Must be able to move between classrooms and provide support where needed.
