Job Description : Creative Director, Copy

This role is about more than writing—it’s about orchestrating Function’s voice across all creative touchpoints, leading multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring every piece of content delivers impact. Reporting to the Executive Creative Director (ECD), you will bring big thinking, sharp execution, and a deep understanding of what makes people care. You will shape Function’s brand voice, drive cohesive storytelling, and ensure Function’s creative output is bold, clear, and unforgettable.

What You’ll Do

Brand Leadership & Creative Direction

  • Own and evolve Function Health’s brand voice across all creative outputs.
  • Lead multi-channel storytelling efforts across Campaign, Evergreen, Special Projects, P0, and Utility teams.
  • Ensure Function’s creative direction is consistent, clear, and high-impact.
  • Translate the ECD’s vision into strategic, executable creative plans.
  • Copy & Storytelling Strategy

  • Oversee all copy efforts , including marketing campaigns, product messaging, and rapid-response creative.
  • Develop messaging strategies that elevate Function’s brand and connect deeply with audiences.
  • Write and edit high-impact copy for key brand moments, ensuring Function’s voice remains sharp and distinctive.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the ECD, marketing, and product teams to align creative with business goals.
  • Work with the Brand Innovation Team to explore AI-driven content tools that optimize storytelling.
  • Ensure copy and design work together , creating seamless, high-quality content.
  • Manage and mentor copywriters and creative teams , guiding tone, voice, and narrative structure.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Provide structured feedback and mentorship to elevate team talent.
  • Agency & External Partner Management

  • Oversee external creative agencies , ensuring brand consistency and high-quality execution.
  • Review agency outputs and provide clear, strategic feedback for refinement.
  • Evaluate agency and vendor performance to optimize partnerships.
  • Performance & Strategic Impact

  • Ensure all creative outputs align with Function’s strategic goals and brand positioning.
  • Analyze performance data and customer insights to refine messaging and creative strategies.
  • Lead the execution of fully integrated marketing campaigns , ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
  • Bring newness —demonstrating scrappy, out-of-the-box thinking while ensuring execution at scale.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, cultural moments, and creative innovation to keep Function’s storytelling fresh.
  • Lead the creation of organic, viral, and multi-platform storytelling , ensuring Function stays relevant and dynamic.
  • What You Bring

  • 9 years of experience in creative roles, with significant in-house brand experience.
  • Proven expertise in copywriting and brand storytelling, with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful work.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams, including copywriters and designers.
  • Deep understanding of branding, messaging strategy, and audience engagement.
  • Strong background in organic content creation, viral campaigns, and multi-platform storytelling.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and overseeing external creative execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at speed, making sharp decisions with clarity.
  • Understanding of AI-driven content tools and emerging creative technologies is a plus.
