Summer Campaign Positions with Environmental Nonprofit

Fund for the Public Interest
Seattle, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 2/11/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/11/2025

This summer, work to protect old growth forests, stop plastic from infiltrating our environment, and keep our water and air clean. We have summer jobs available in over a dozen locations across the country.

Fund for the Public Interest partners with Environment America and PIRG to build public support and grassroots engagement around initiatives that protect public health, consumers, and the environment. An example of a campaign you could make a difference on this summer is saving the bees. Currently, 1 in 4 bumblebee species are at risk of going extinct. A big reason for this are pesticides called neonics, which seed companies coat their seeds with. The EPA estimates that between 70-80% of corn, soybeans and cotton seeds are treated with neonics.

In order to stop these seeds from being coated in bee-killing pesticides, we are hiring canvassers and field managers to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.

As a canvasser this summer you will:

  • Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
  • Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
  • Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
  • Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
  • Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work
