About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will bring strong accounting leadership, process improvements, and financial oversight to support the Fundraise Up's organic growth. In this key leadership role, the Controller will oversee financial statements, manage accounting operations, enforce internal controls, ensure compliance with GAAP standards, as well as manage tax and treasury. The ideal candidate will bring 8 years of accounting/finance experience including at least 3 years in a leadership role. CPA required. Tech/transactional revenue experience is a plus. Experience in global setups and international subsidiaries consolidation and tax compliance. The candidate needs to be hands-on but also possess excellent management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements, producing audited financials on a yearly basis
- Prepare internal controls and risk management, with a focus on leveraging technology to enhance these processes
- Provide financial support to departments, using technology to improve payroll management and operational efficiency
- Lead the controllership team in effective management of financial tasks, including payroll, tax compliance, and risk management
- Work cross-functionally to ensure data consistency, quality, and appropriateness
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CPA certification
- 8 years of proven experience as a Financial Controller, Assistant Controller or in a similar role within a tech/SaaS start up
- Expert knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and US GAAP reporting standards
- Experience in global business, international subsidiaries consolidation and tax compliance
- Experience in deploying financial technology tools and automating financial processes
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Ramp and Tableau is a plus. Experience implementing new ERP also a big plus.
