Job Description Job Description Furnace Record Pressing is growing; we’re looking for Line QC Technician / Back-up Sleever : About Furnace : Furnace Record Pressing is a full-service vinyl pressing plant based in Alexandria,VA. We make vinyl records for major labels and indies, musicians, and all who careabout quality and craft. We’ve been doing this for over 25 years and are dedicatedto continuing to drive the industry by bringing only the best vinyl records tomarket.Our clients include the biggest bands in the world and independent labels andbands putting out their first record. Yes, this is a cool place to work, but we alsowork very hard and care deeply about the final product.We practice Lean Manufacturing in the office and on the manufacturing floor. Thismeans a lot of things but part of it is saving time every day through continualimprovement of processes and ourselves.About You : Above all else, attitude is important. Desire to always be learning, thinks critically, and is respectful are the key tenants success at FurnaceIs open to feedback, and trying things in a different wayTakes initiative to problem solvingUnderstands urgencyGood communicatorLikes being part of a team who works hard, respects their work and their co-workers (very important)Demonstrates common sense and adheres to safety measuresMust be able to work Monday-Thursday, 10 hour shifts (6 : 30AM-5 : 00PM)This is an on-site, non remote position, reliable transportation is keyMust be able to pass a criminal background checkSome things you’ll do in this position : Perform QC inspections during productionRecord all stamper changes and full listens on QC sheetsWork with operators to get machines on labelsPerform Full Listens when new stampers are put into a machine or when a new job is startedQC records brought back from SleevingDouble check with QC lead or Manager if there are a lot of records with the same defect or if you’re unsure about the severity of a defectDocument and collect examples of approved pressing defects for QC and SleevingDocument and collect examples of approved stamper defects for QCListening to Test Presses and taking detailed notesAssisting press operators with purging bad records from their spindles and palletsChecking Test Press copies to determine if stamper defects are customer approvedRetrieving stampers or Test Presses from the libraryWork on the visual inspection team (Sleever) as neededThis position is a full time, four day work week.
