Position Overview: The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing the new business development sales team to drive revenue growth and achieve company sales objectives. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, building customer relationships, and overseeing the performance of the sales department to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company revenue goals.
- Development of sales presentations and action plans for potential new clients.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor the new business development team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new sales team members.
- Provide training and coaching of all reports along with annual performance reviews.
- Set sales targets and monitor performance metrics to ensure team goals are met.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development.
- Sales Operations:
- Review and monitor monthly individual sales results to determine adherence to annual sales goals.
- Oversee day-to-day sales operations and ensure efficient execution of sales processes.
- Manage sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Monitor sales pipeline and address any bottlenecks or challenges.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., design, sales support, project management, marketing) to align sales efforts with company-wide objectives.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations with high-value clients and close major sales deals.
- Market and Industry Knowledge:
- Participate and hold cabinet position in key industry organizations, maintain high level of visibility.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
- Ensure that the sales team is knowledgeable about the company’s products and services, as well as the competitive landscape.
