Description
Job Summary:
The Senior Designer will also work closely with the sales team and clients on commercial interior design, space planning, and programming, selecting commercial office products, and curating world-class spaces for our clients.
This position reports to the Vice President of the Division.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design Development
- Work with salesperson and/or client to determine purpose and function of environment, budget, scope of project, time schedules, types of furniture and equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments.
- Advise salesperson and/or client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, color coordination, and codes according to local governing jurisdictions.
- Provide schematic design and design development drawings.
- Coordinate design intent with architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans.
- Procurement
- Build final validation packets for sign-off from client.
- Create installation drawings and core plans for installation and project management.
- On-going
- Maintain project files and time sheets on all work performed according to departmental guidelines.
- Attend all design/sales meetings and educational seminars as requested.
- Attend client meetings, both on-site and off-site as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on interior design
- Required skills
- High level of product knowledge regarding commercial office furniture
- High level of independence – able to work with minimal supervision
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and be self-motivated
- Working knowledge of accessibility codes
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Preferred skills
- NCIDQ certification or similar certification (WELL, LEED)
- Working knowledge of AUTOCAD, CET, Project Matrix
- Strong acumen with Microsoft office products
- Adobe Acrobat
