What are the responsibilities and job description for the Furniture Sales Associate position at Furniture Warehouse Ohio?
We are opening a second store soon! One of the salespeople at our Mentor store will be leaving to manage the new location so we need to replace their position.
Looking for someone who wants to build a career. We have a very high level of satisfaction with our customers and sales staff reap the benefits. You can make a good living at our company without a clientele but building a clientele can take you to the next level. It is very rare that a salesperson makes less from one year to the next, most enjoy a steady increase in pay each year because repeat customers ask for them at the door.
Must be a customer service-oriented person to fit into our low-pressure sales environment. Sales staff provide information about our product to the customers, instead of trying to use sales tactics to convince them to buy. Our pricing is the lowest in town, which makes selling easy at our company compared to other furniture stores. The leads come in the door and call you! There is no "cold-calling" or uncomfortable high pressure situations to create sales leads.
No furniture sales experience required! Most of our sales staff never sold furniture before starting at our company. We will happily train any person with a positive attitude and desire to succeed. We've only had 1 person in our 7-year history leave the sales department for a reason other than a promotion to manager in a different department, retiring or starting a side business that took off.
Daily responsibilities and requirements:
-Greet customers at door to explain our program.
-Help customer through purchase process.
-Answering phone and writing up orders over the phone.
-Communicate with customer via email and online messaging.
-Help customers at sales counter. Collect payment, properly fill out invoice and process order.
-Help customers with any service issue.
-No cold calling. All of our leads call the store for help or stop by the showroom.
-Assist customer with loading product in their vehicles. Must be able to dolly a sofa, lift 50lbs.
-Work with multiple customers at once. We have an extremely high energy, fun sales environment. We pay more than the typical store, but you will have to move at a fast pace for most of the day.
-Cleaning showroom at the beginning and end of the day.
Job perks and pay:
-Base pay plus commission. $14 per hour plus 1-3% commission and bonuses on certain product such as mattresses, extended warranty, closeouts and more. $4 bonus each time you help a customer load furniture into their vehicle on items valued over $100. Most sales staff make $30-35 per hour with top tier sales staff making $40-45 per hour.

There is a manager ready to step in to help with an issue and they will go above and beyond to satisfy customer. The owner is also at the showroom 60 plus hours a week to help with any issues.

Thursdays 9:45 to 7pm
Fridays 9:45 to 7pm
Saturdays 9:45 to 7pm
Sundays 9:45am to 5pm

Furniture Warehouse was founded in 2013 as a distributor of wholesale furniture and a retail division in 2018. Our retail division quickly grew from zero to over 45 employees. We also do many fundraisers and get great support from the community.
