Job Purpose
The Factory Pick-Up Driver & Switcher’s primary responsibilities include driving for deliveries between FLS and various manufacturers, tracking truck totals, driving dump truck, and maintaining the trailer yard.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

- Drive truck for pick ups from the manufacturer.
- Load truck and sign for merchandise.
- Verify that furniture appears to be in good condition.
- Tally counts for trucks on the yard.
- Drive dump truck as needed.
- Maintain trailer yard.
- Relocate trucks to and from docks.
- Maintain necessary driver logs and expiration status of Federal Inspections due on vehicles.
- Return items to the manufacturer, obtaining authorized receiver’s signature.
- Keep FLS equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Maintain necessary driver logs.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed.
- Assist in keeping the warehouse and outside dock areas clean and organized.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Be open to suggest any ideas for improvement.
- Arrive punctually and consistently for work for normally scheduled hours.
- Occasional Saturdays and Sundays.
- Perform various related duties as required.
- The job duties are not limited to the items as described above, duties can be added or changed at any given time.
Working Conditions
This job is an onsite position that operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, photocopiers and smartphones. As well as dolly, hand trucks, baler, and lift truck.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year driving experience with a valid NC Class A CDL.
- Clean driving record.
- Able to push, pull, and lift heavy/large objects for extended periods of time.
- Must be highly motivated and dependable; able to work in a fast paced environment, mindful of safety.
