REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Director – Formulations with oversight from the Executive Vice President.
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE
Under general direction, this position oversees the creation and maintenance of product formulas, labels, and SAP input for Furst-McNess Agri-Group products. Responsibilities include maintaining formulation software and transferring data to plant software, ensuring state and federal registrations and licenses are submitted, and providing technical product assistance to customers and sales staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and provide product formulas, mill mixes, and master label copy in coordination with Product Managers and Species Nutritionists. Maintain product records in electronic and paper formats.
- Formulate custom products as requested by nutritionists and field sales. Create formulas and tags for production, assign product codes, and ensure all necessary information for pricing and production is complete.
- Input and maintain SAP product information, including material master, bill of materials, master recipes, production versions, product hierarchy, and product costing.
- Manage and prioritize work projects to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with manufacturing plants, purchasing, nutritionists, quality assurance, and customer service to ensure proper formulation and labeling of products. Communicate updates to relevant teams.
- Maintain or create ingredient specifications, labeling, and compendium updates for BestMix.
- Monitor product sales to determine if discontinuation is necessary.
- Maintain the formulation software system, installing and testing updates as available.

Maintain active feed licenses, product registrations, and pesticide sub-registrations:
- Submit registrations to 44 states.
- Monitor 4 additional states.
- Sub-register 560695 in states as requested by sales management.
- Provide product information to customers and the field sales team as requested.
- Set up and maintain Veterinary Feed Directives (VFD) for products and customers, including distributor and prescription approvals.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to succeed within the culture of the Furst-McNess Company.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
- Bachelor's degree in an agricultural-related field with 3-5 years of industry experience.
- Comprehensive industry knowledge.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in SAP, formulation software, Microsoft Office, and general computer use.
- Strong math skills required for formulation and tag development.
- Proficiency in office equipment use.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service with a sense of urgency in problem-solving.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
- Effective team player willing to contribute beyond assigned responsibilities for departmental and company success.
- Adaptability to change and ability to recommend improvements for better service to internal and external customers.

- Ability to travel as needed, including overnight stays. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record per company vehicle policy.
