Automotive Title Clerk
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Automotive Title Clerk to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vehicle titles and registrations while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Process and title new and used vehicle deals, both in-state and out-of-state, using VITU, MNDrive, or local DMV systems.
- Track and resolve title issues by following up with banks, DMVs, lienholders, and dealership personnel to obtain missing documents.
- Manage the sending of titles for wholesale vehicle sales.
- Maintain organized title and MSO books to ensure audit readiness.
- File completed deals once titling is finalized.
- Review and reconcile accounts and schedules related to titling.
- Prepare and send daily spreadsheets summarizing work to the DMV.
- Process and issue refund checks to customers as needed.
- Keep updated on state and federal rules and regulations regarding titling and registration.
- Assist finance managers, customers, and dealership management with titling-related inquiries.
- Maintain and track plate inventory, replenishing supplies for the finance team as needed.
- Ensure all titling documents are notarized as required.
- Assist in managing titling and registration for Montana and other personal or recreational vehicles.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in vehicle titling, registration, or DMV processing (preferred).
- Notary Public certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in titling software (e.g., VITU) and DMV systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with accounting processes related to vehicle sales (a plus).
