About You
We are looking for a Journeyman Diesel Service Technician to join our team! The right candidate will have a strong diesel service technician background, excellent communication skills, time-management skills, and a desire to provide superb customer service.
Primary Accountabilities
The day-to-day duties of this role include:
- Performing work on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
- Diagnosing repairs needed
- Test-drive vehicles, test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle diesel automotive systems including:
- Engine
- Transmission
- Electrical steering
- Suspension
- Brakes
- Air conditioning, etc.
- Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so customers are informed if any additional service is needed
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Keeps shop area neat and clean
Diesel Journeyman Service Technician Qualifications
- 2 years of Service Technician experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, ASE certification preferred
- B level qualifications, including diagnostic, electrical and engine repair
- Dexterity, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Diesel mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Basic computer competencies
- Excellent customer service skills, positive, friendly attitude, with an eagerness to improve
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
- Ability to collaborate with other team members effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
