Job Summary for Senior Financial Accountant
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Provide insights into financial performance and trends to senior management.
- General Ledger and Reconciliations:
- Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of entries.
- Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with other departments.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures, and recommend corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.
- Stay updated on industry changes and ensure the organization adopts best practices.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth.
- Lead cross-functional financial projects and initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience. The ideal candidate would have 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a team-oriented approach.
