PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Engineering Design: Ability to design mechanical solutions based on problem statements as they related to ongoing improvement for the Nutraceutical Pilot Plant and Office Facility. Propose multiple solutions to existing problems, align with key stakeholders, and convert the solutions into feasible engineering designs – construction drawings, P&IDs, and layouts.
- Facilities Engineering Support: Development and maintenance of facilities layout in CAD, Providing consultation on Facilities engineering projects (HVAC, Water, Steam & Air Systems)
- Project Execution: Convert engineering design to contractor scope of work, facilitate bidding with multiple contractors, select the appropriate contractor, align with pilot plant and facility management to schedule work at an optimal time, oversee execution and manage safety, project closeout.
Project Management:
- Proven ability to independently drive multiple capital projects simultaneously.
- Strong budget management and timeline adherence skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).
- Extensive experience in managing contractors, including selection, coordination, and performance evaluation.
- In-depth understanding of contractor safety regulations and practices, particularly for high-hazard tasks.
- Expertise in developing and reviewing P&IDs.
- Advanced skills in mechanical and piping design, including material selection and system integration.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of construction methods and construction management in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
- Familiarity with facilities design, building regulatory requirements, HVAC design and operation, and industrial electrical design.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write comprehensive Scopes of Work (SOW) for various trades based on project requirements.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Advanced skills in Autodesk AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience in the food and beverage industry, particularly in R&D and pilot plant environments.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient design principles.
- Minimum of 5 years in engineering project design and execution in process manufacturing and industrial environments (food or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred). 10 years preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in relevant Engineering field (Mechanical or Chemical preferred)
- Experience in the food and beverage industry, particularly in R&D and pilot plant environments.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
